I tried the fix on the Microsoft site for an installer software repair, but I still cannot install new applications that use a windows installer. For example, I bought a new MP3 player, and can only explore the device because I can't install the applicaiton. I typically get a 1325 type error.
Is there a way to fix this without wiping out my PC? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :-) joan Email removed for privacy Found it: Here are the steps to fix it. 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. 2. Locate the following registry key: <samp>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\</samp> 3. Delete the entries that show the path that is listed in the error message. |
