Can't operate.\r\nFailed to connect to bus: Host is down<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The error message &#8220;System has not been booted with systemd as init system (PID 1). Can&#8217;t operate. Failed to connect to bus: Host is down&#8221; indicates that WSL does not yet support systemd as the init system. This means that you cannot use the <code>systemctl<\/code> command to start or manage services in WSL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To start the SSH server in WSL, you can use the following command:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code \"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\n$ sudo service ssh start\n\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This command will use the old <code>init.d<\/code> style scripts to start the SSH server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the SSH server is started, you can connect to your WSL instance using an SSH client. To do this, you will need to know the IP address of your WSL instance. You can find the IP address using the <code>ip addr<\/code> command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have the IP address of your WSL instance, you can connect to it using an SSH client. For example, to connect to your WSL instance using the OpenSSH client, you would use the following command:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code \"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\nssh user@&amp;lt;ip_address&gt;\n\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">where <code>&lt;user&gt;<\/code> is the username of the user account that you want to use to log in to your WSL instance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Error Solution The error message &#8220;System has not been booted with systemd as init system (PID 1).
