For example, to grant the user the ability to read and write data to the Zabbix database, you can run the following command:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code \"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\nGRANT ALL ON zabbix.* TO &#039;zabbix&#039;@&#039;localhost&#039;;\n\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\">\n<li>Flush the privileges.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code \"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\nFLUSH PRIVILEGES;\n\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have created a user in the Zabbix database, you can connect to the database using that user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Error 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>mysql> create user zabbix@localhost identified by 'DevOpsSchool$123';\r\nERROR 1396 (HY000): Operation CREATE USER failed for 'zabbix'@'localhost'<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are a few possible reasons why you are getting the error message <code>ERROR 1396 (HY000): Operation CREATE USER failed for 'zabbix'@'localhost'<\/code>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may not have the necessary permissions to create a new user in the MySQL database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The user name or password may be invalid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The user may already exist.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To resolve this error, you can do one of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure that you have the necessary permissions to create a new user in the MySQL database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the user name and password to make sure that they are valid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the user already exists, you can try to reset the password for the user.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is a step-by-step guide on how to reset the password for a MySQL user:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the MySQL client.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect to the MySQL database.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run the following command to reset the password for the&nbsp;<code>zabbix<\/code>&nbsp;user:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code \"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\nALTER USER &#039;zabbix&#039;@&#039;localhost&#039; IDENTIFIED BY &#039;DevOpsSchool$123&#039;;\n\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>Flush the privileges.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-syntaxhighlighter-code \"><pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\nFLUSH PRIVILEGES;\n\n<\/pre><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you have reset the password for the <code>zabbix<\/code> user, you will be able to connect to the MySQL database using that user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some additional tips for troubleshooting this error:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure that the MySQL service is running.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the MySQL error log for any additional information about the error.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Try restarting the MySQL service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are still having problems, you can contact your MySQL administrator for assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Error 3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>root@ip-172-31-33-47:\/var\/log\/zabbix# zcat \/usr\/share\/zabbix-sql-scripts\/mysql\/server.sql.gz | mysql -uzabbix -p zabbix\r\nEnter password:\r\nERROR 1419 (HY000) at line 2114: You do not have the SUPER privilege and binary logging is enabled (you *might* want to use the less safe log_bin_trust_function_creators variable)<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution 3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>The error message ERROR 1419 (HY000) at line 2114: You do not have the SUPER privilege and binary logging is enabled (you *might* want to use the less safe log_bin_trust_function_creators variable) indicates that the zabbix user does not have the SUPER privilege and binary logging is enabled.
