SVN SERVER SETUP<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Step to setting subversion server for administrator:-
\n1. Check to see if subversion is installed:-<\/b>
\n# rpm -q subversion
\nsubversion-1.4.4-1.fc7
\nor
\n#svn –version
\nsvn, version 1.5.2 (r32768)
\ncompiled Oct 4 2008, 02:48:59
\nIf you see “package subversion not installed” you will need to install subversion before
\nproceeding. Otherwise you should see something similar to \u201c subversion-1.4.4-1.fc7\u201d
\n2. Login in as root:-<\/b>
\n3. Create a directory to hold all your repositories:-
\n<\/b>#mkdir \/home\/svnserver\/svn
\n4. Create a repository. In this example we will create a repository called “repositories”:-
\n<\/b># svnadmin create \/home\/svnserver\/svn
\n5. list the repository files and directory :-
\n<\/b>#ls
\nconf db format hooks locks README.txt
\n6. Create a SVN user
\n<\/b>6.1 vi \/home\/svnserver\/svn\/conf\/svnserve.conf
\nIn that file add these three lines:
\nanon-access=write
\nauth-access=write
\npassword-db=passwd
\nNote:- Do not leave space before this three lines.
\n6.2 Create a password file.
\nvi \/home\/svnserver\/svn\/conf\/passwd
\nIn that file add a line for your user:
\n# add users in the format : user = password
\nuser = mypassword
\n7. Create a directory to hold all your project in repositories:-
\n# mkdir \/home\/svnserver\/svn\/myproject
\n8. Try importing source code into the repository. Change to a directory containing the files you want to
\ncheck in.
\n# svn -m “Intailly importing” import \/home\/svnproject\/source\/myproject file:\/\/\/home\/svnserver\/svn\/myproject<\/a>
\n9. Start the SVN Server as Daemon:-
\n#svnserve -d
\n10. Try checking it out of the repository:- (Check out)
\nhome\/user\/source# svn co svn:\/\/192.168.0.103\/home\/svnserver\/svn\/myproject
\n11. Try checking it in of the repository:- ( Check in)
