Update your system<\/div>\n<div>&gt; yum -y update<\/div>\n<div>&gt; cd etc\/yum.repos.d\/<\/div>\n<div>&gt; wget <a href=\"http:\/\/download.virtualbox.org\/virtualbox\/rpm\/fedora\/virtualbox.repo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/download.virtualbox.org\/virtualbox\/rpm\/fedora\/virtualbox.repo<\/a><\/div>\n<div>&gt; yum update -y<\/div>\n<div>&gt; yum install binutils qt gcc make patch libgomp glibc-headers glibc-devel kernel-headers kernel-devel<\/div>\n<div>&gt; dkms<\/div>\n<div>&gt; yum install virtualbox-5.0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>2. Install Vagrant<\/div>\n<div>&gt; wget https:\/\/releases.hashicorp.com\/vagrant\/1.8.1\/vagrant_1.8.1_x86_64.rpm<\/div>\n<div>&gt; yum localinstall vagrant_1.8.1_x86_64.rpm<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Vagrant installation in Windows<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>In this tutorial, we will be installing Vagrant, a bare bones server with Ubuntu installed. Vagrant is a server that runs under VirtualBox. You will need to have VirtualBox installed. You will also need to have Putty installed in order to access your new Vagrant server via SSH. These instructions also apply to Windows 8.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Requirements:<\/div>\n<div>A hard connection to the Internet<\/div>\n<div>Putty needs to be installed. (putty-0.62-installer.exe)<\/div>\n<div>VirtualBox needs to be installed.<\/div>\n<div>Recommended: 8 GB RAM is recommended to run VirtualBox on Windows PCs<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A. Installing Vagrant \u2013 bare bones server \u2013 Ubuntu only<\/div>\n<div>1. Download and install the most recent VirtualBox for Windows from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virtualbox.org\/wiki\/Downloads\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.virtualbox.org\/wiki\/Downloads<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Start up VirtualBox<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>2. Download and install the latest version of Vagrant from <a href=\"http:\/\/downloads.vagrantup.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/downloads.vagrantup.com<\/a>. For this tutorial, we will use version 1.0.6. Windows users, download Vagrant.msi<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Open Windows cmd prompt<\/div>\n<div>For Windows 8, press Windows key and then press \u201cR\u201d key. This will open the RUN dialog box for you. Type \u201ccmd\u201d and press Enter.<\/div>\n<div>Note: I typed vagrant command and I got the error message saying, \u2018vagrant\u2019 command not recognized. It was not added to the Path during install. Restarting your computer may help to refresh the path.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>3. Change directory to C:\\vagrant\\vagrant\\bin<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>4. Then type the following commands:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>C:\\vagrant\\vagrant\\bin&gt; vagrant box add lucid32 http:\/\/files.vagrantup.com\/lucid32.box<\/div>\n<div>C:\\vagrant\\vagrant\\bin&gt; vagrant init lucid32<\/div>\n<div>C:\\vagrant\\vagrant\\bin&gt; vagrant up<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>5. Open Putty and enter these credentials:<\/div>\n<div>Hostname: 127.0.0.1<\/div>\n<div>Port: 2222<\/div>\n<div>Connection type: SSH<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>6. Login to Vagrant server<\/div>\n<div>Enter username: vagrant<\/div>\n<div>Password: vagrant<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Type ls \u2013lah at the prompt.<\/div>\n<div>This is a bare bones server with Ubuntu installed.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>vagrant@lucid32:~$ls -lah<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vagrant installation in ubuntu 1.
