Key Responsibilities include:
•Understanding the packaging configurations and requirements inside Texas Instruments.
•Understand the requirements from customer about the existing/new package request.
•Create a new package/re-package existing packages for Windows 7 operating system.
•Evaluate the application source (install bits), categorize the request based on complexities and provide a tentative delivery date for completion of package.
•Complete the package request on time as per the original schedule.
•Perform compatibility testing and fixing application compatibility issues using tools like ACTS
•Fix the issues with update/new packages and fine tune the same to meet customer requirements.
•Interaction with various customers to define the package behavior based on their expectation.
•Follow the best practices in the packaging world and follow the industry standards
•Follow the company defined Process and Standards in creation of packages.
•Perform Quality Assurance for the packages created.
•Perform integration testing.
•Create documentation for the packages created.

Technical Competencies:

•Strong knowledge on MSI architecture, Wise Package Studio (in creating MSI, MST, MSP and MSM), Wise script, VM ware, trouble shooting tools, SCCM.
•Strong knowledge on conflict management inside packages.
•Good working knowledge on operating systems (Windows XP, Windows 7/Vista, Windows server 2003 and Windows server 2008,)

Hey Team, Thanks for lot of information on the site. wonderful work.

Any idea on SCM workflow software/framework ? which would help me to complete the SDLC lifecycle.

For E.g: When ever developers are done with their changes/check-ins, they would request CM team to build (via Email), And when CM builds and deploy , they will email to Testing Team, finally when its been tested they will let CM/RM team inform about the bugs, etc. finally product will be released.

All this was happening manually(via emails). If we have a workflow software, so that we can have everything in process oriented and SCM would be very easy.

Any Suggestion are welcome.

If know of any plug-ins , we can extend our programs to make it work to our systems.

May be i am getting confused from you questions. Framework which can help you to develop your internal tools????

You mean you would like to develop your own tools, Then you might want to identify the technology first using which you want your development work get started. There are plenty of framework in Java| C++ | Perl | Pythin| Php | Ruby on rails etc

Hi Manju,

Bamboo server is mainly meant for continuous integration and in turn quick feedback to the developers on their code check-ins. So ideally this environment should target for faster build and execution of some unit testers. If this environment is light weight then performance of your builds would be good.

To execute the integration testers using RFT/QTP or any other test automation tool it would be ideal to have dedicated agent machine where in you can have all the dependenct tools installation to run your testers. You can have two dependent build plans, one to start the build and if it is successful then dependent plan (which will run integration testers) will start based on first one’s success.

However it is technically possible to acheive everything on Bamboo master itslef if you don’t like this server-slave model. But using Bamboo’s distributed builds feature is ideal in your scenario.

Check Bamboo’s release notes once and you will get idea on how to achieve this easily.
