rajeshkumar created the topic: ERROR: Could not find cookbook cookbooks_test in your cookbook path, sk

Error while uploading the cookbooks….

> knife cookbook upload cookbooks_test
ERROR: Could not find cookbook cookbooks_test in your cookbook path, skipping it
ERROR: Failed to upload 1 cookbook.

Solution:

You can pass path of the cookbooks via commend line using…

knife cookbook upload cookbooks_test -o /path/to/cookbook

Also, you can set the path in .chef/knife.rb. If .chef/knife.rb is missing, you can following commands…

knife configure --initial

But if you install the startter kit from manage.chef.io, you just need to replace all the files including .knife.rb

if you cookbooks files many places then you can set your .knife.rb like as below;

cookbook_path [ '.', '..', './cookbooks', '~/git/chef' ]

If you are still getting this error, make sure the metadata.rb has same name which you using to upload the cookbooks.

I guess you are running this script in Mac

“Error executing action `install` on resource ‘homebrew_package[httpd]'”

Check the name of apache http package name in Mac. I guess its “httpd24” but need to verify first.

scmuser created the topic: ERROR: Failed to create a service: Status Invalid Service Account
Hi,

I am setting up the jenkins nodes in one machine where hudson nodes and services as already setup but getting following error ..
any clue —

ERROR: Failed to create a service: Status Invalid Service Account

scmuser replied the topic: ERROR: Failed to create a service: Status Invalid Service Account
Solution which i found is –

If you upgrade jenkins to latest versions, again ssh commands through windows will hang for the same reason mentioned above.
The fix is not to run Jenkins service as ‘Local user’. Now you can configure it through jenkins node configuration page.
Login to jenkins -> Manage Jenkins -> Manage Nodes -> Click on your node -> configure -> Run service as -> select ‘Log on using a different account’ ->
For ex:
User name: .\Administrator
pasword: ********

Note: .\ in user name is must , otherwise it fails with
ERROR: Failed to create a service: Status Invalid Service Account

rajeshkumar replied the topic: WorkSpace Cleanup Error
Its reported problem with in windows with jenkins. Check following…
1. You Jenkins and git related plugins are up to date.
2. You surely are using gitk.cmd and not git.exe directly. Check what your Jenkins config for Git installs are and that your job is using the one that calls git.exe directly.
3. try to use the git.exe from cmd directory instead of using from bin directory.

rajeshkumar created the topic: Error in safe sync
Today while using Safe sync i found some issues as follows
Problem While Safe Sync:
p4 -p server:port -u user -c clientname -V

Perforce – The Fast Software Configuration Management System.
Copyright 1995-2011 Perforce Software. All rights reserved.
Rev. P4/NTX64/2011.1/370818 (2011/10/19).

p4 -p server:port -u user -c clientname sync –s -n //depot/…
Usage: sync [-f -k -n -p -q] [-m max] [files…]
Invalid option: -s.

Solution:

This is the problem wit 2011.1 release. it should be resolved in next release as per the notes of latest release doc.
#281208 (Bug #5991) **
‘p4 sync’ now supports a new flag ‘-s’. This flag adds a safety
check using MD5 digests to prevent overwriting previously synced
files that have been modified outside of Perforce control. An
alias ‘p4 update’ has been added for ‘p4 sync -s’ for users more
familiar with this command.
Regards,

scmuser created the topic: P4 Revert error
I am getting a P4 error I don’t know how to fix. Hopefully you have a solution for it.
I have a file needs to be resolved, when I clicked on the Accept Merge, P4 said:
“File rename failed after 10 attempts, rename <filepath> cannot create a file when that file already exists.

So when I tried to revert my change, it tells me the same error. So it appears I got stuck with this file checked out with a ? icon hanging.

Thanks!
