rajeshkumar created the topic: Error in safe sync
Today while using Safe sync i found some issues as follows
Problem While Safe Sync:
p4 -p server:port -u user -c clientname -V
Perforce – The Fast Software Configuration Management System.
Copyright 1995-2011 Perforce Software. All rights reserved.
Rev. P4/NTX64/2011.1/370818 (2011/10/19).
p4 -p server:port -u user -c clientname sync –s -n //depot/…
Usage: sync [-f -k -n -p -q] [-m max] [files…]
Invalid option: -s.
Solution:
This is the problem wit 2011.1 release. it should be resolved in next release as per the notes of latest release doc.
#281208 (Bug #5991) **
‘p4 sync’ now supports a new flag ‘-s’. This flag adds a safety
check using MD5 digests to prevent overwriting previously synced
files that have been modified outside of Perforce control. An
alias ‘p4 update’ has been added for ‘p4 sync -s’ for users more
familiar with this command.
