Error 1719 The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.

msiexpert replied the topic: Re: Error 1719 The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed.
Hi nancywhit,

• Do you remember making any changes to the computer recently?

This may happen if the Windows Installer files that are on your hard disk are damaged or are missing.
You install or remove a program that uses the Windows Installer Microsoft Software Installation (MSI) package file (.msi). For example, this may occur when you try to install Microsoft Office on your computer.

Method 1
First I would suggest that you check if the Windows installer service is running on the computer.

1. Go to “Start” – “Run” type “services.msc” and press on “Enter” button.

2. Double-click on the service named “Windows Installer”

3. Check the value in the “Startup type” field. If it’s currently set to “Disabled”, then this is the problem. Change it by selecting “Manual” from the drop-down box.
Make sure that the service is started and set to Manual.

Method 2
If the above step fails then unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer

To do this, follow these steps:

1. On the “Start” menu, click “Run”

2. In the “Open” box, type “msiexec /unreg”, and then press ENTER

3. On the “Start” menu, click “Run”

4. In the “Open” box, type “msiexec /regserver” and then press ENTER

If the above steps fail then I would suggest that you install the latest version of Windows installer on the computer, refer the below link.

Windows Installer Errors

created the topic: Windows Installer Errors
A Windows installer error is a terribly common computer error that can pop up typically when you are putting in a program on a PC. Some of the error messages that may be written out for this error are:

· “The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed”

· “Windows Installer Service could not be started”

· “Might not begin the Windows Installer service on Native Computer. Error 5: Access is denied.”

The error usually happens in the early stages of the installation process as a result of this is when a part of Windows referred to as MSI is accessed. MSI simply means “Microsoft Installer.

The Installer/Uninstaller

The MSI is the half of the software that interfaces with the Windows operating system and actually, makes the installation possible. The MSI is additionally the half of the software that is entered when the program is uninstalled.

When a Windows installer error occurs, it will thus as a result of of a problem in the operating system’s registry. In fact, one among the old standby strategies for repairing this drawback involves coming into the registry and altering the Windows MSI to the default value. The reason for this is often as a result of a previous installation changed the value in the registry. So, changing it to the default would be changing the MRI access to where it had been before this program was installed. Using this method is nerve wracking as a result of putting in the wrong value can cause additional problems.

Cheap Straightforward and Fast

The Microsoft website shows how to unregister and re-register the MSI as a way of repairing a Windows installer error. This is done by accessing the “msiexec” area of the operating system. Yes, this method will work, but I like to use a budget, simple and quick method once I run into a Windows installer error.

The cheap, simple and fast technique is to easily run a sensible registry cleaner. The installer problem is definitely a registry problem and a smart registry cleaner will positively fix it. “Wait!” I here you exclaim. “How can this technique be low cost if I have to end up shopping for a registry cleaner?” Here’s how:

I’ve seen countless computers with huge difficult issues and even many that needed to be taken out of service altogether because someone embarked upon a procedure that started by clicking “begin” – “run” and then typing something in the Open box. I do not even want to speak about what I’ve seen happen after people, even some technicians, started tinkering around in “regedit!’ Believe me, a registry cleaner is the cheap way. Certainly, using one is the easy and fast way.

Windows Installer During BOOT!

InstallerExpert created the topic: Windows Installer During BOOT!
I found a Win XP Pro machine where during boot, right after the blue Welcome screen and just before the desktop appears, the Windows Installer appears. It stays on for about 20 seconds whether or not you hit cancel and then everything continues as normal with seemingly no problems. Is there any way to determine just what its trying to install or simply a way to just remove it? Its puzzling and annoying but I don’t want to open up a can of worms and could just as well tell the owner to ignore it. Anyone with some ideas?

How to fix my windows installer software?

installanywhereExpert created the topic: How to fix my windows installer software?
I tried the fix on the Microsoft site for an installer software repair, but I still cannot install new applications that use a windows installer. For example, I bought a new MP3 player, and can only explore the device because I can’t install the applicaiton. I typically get a 1325 type error.

Is there a way to fix this without wiping out my PC?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

When I try to install mcafee virtual tech I keep getting this error saying “the windwos installer service could not be accessed. this can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed.” I googled it and found a solution that required me to run msiexec /unreg then msiexec /regserver but that didn’t work.

Windows Installer Service not properly registered

InstallerExpert created the topic: Windows Installer Service not properly registered
I need to download .NET3.5 SP1 for TurboTax. When attempting to load the software I was led to issues that said .NET2 was not working properly. I have deleted the file and am trying to reintall .NET2 however I am receiving an error message that windows installer service is not properly registered and will not let the install complete. How do I register WIS? I have also had intermitent messages saying that setup.exe was running in another program although I was not running another program. Is this somehow related?

The Windows Installer error notwithstanding, see…

registry smart review windows installer errors

InstallerExpert created the topic: registry smart review windows installer errors
The RegistrySmart is software which is used for the cleaning of the registry. It helps in PC error diagnostic and repair. In this article I will be explaining what this software is as well as what are the disadvantages of the corrupt registry. You will also get an idea on how it gets corrupted and what effect it has on the operating system. You will also come to know why your PC slows down due to corrupt registry.

Let me first tell you about it. It is a huge database where the information related to all the hardware drivers as well as the application is stored. Every time you load new application software, its size increases. As you will go on increasing the number of application software in your PC its size will also go on increasing. The hardware drivers also lead to the growth in the size of the registry.

With the increase in the registry size, many new things will happen. Your PC might loose the shine. This is definitely very important to note down. I would like to give you one example. Suppose you load the oracle software in your PC. You must have noticed that your computer starts working slowly. This should not surprise you. You need to be extra careful if you want to make your PC run faster. Suppose you remove the Oracle software from your PC. You must have noticed that your computer might still be running slowly.

This is definitely a case of doubly dying. You will be quite surprised but you need not to be. There are reasons behind it. When you are removing the oracle database from your PC then this does not means that all the drivers are removed from the registry. This is definitely not the case. There is much information related to oracle yet stored in it. You will certainly have to remove it.

For this purpose you will have to use the registry cleaner. You can download it from any website and then do this. However you will soon find out that you are lacking something. Hence I am suggesting you one of the best software. It is the RegistrySmart review here.

With the help of the Registry Smart you can definitely clean the registry of the computer in best as well as the safest manner. So get it installed on your PC today. You will definitely love it.

It wont install and keeps giving me error code 643, I have tried to look up that code, but can not find anything on it. Can any one please help me out here…it is starting to get really annoying and I am getting to the point that I am looking at replacing my computer and never buying a Dell ever again.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but replacing your computer with a non-Dell machine won’t prevent something like this from happening again (unless it’s a Mac or you run Linux on it) as this is a Windows issue. What were you trying to install when you got the message that Windows Installer could not be accessed? You might want to start troubleshooting with this.
