Hello Friends,
I am creating a checklists of questionnaire for the project mgmt to know the fact whether their project is CI or CC. I have got here few points which can be asked to Dev mgr to findout if they are CC or CI.
Please add your inputs as well if I am missing anything here….
How much code coverage do you have with your tests?
How long does it take to run your builds?
What is your average code complexity?
How much code duplication do you have?
Are you labeling your builds in your version control repository?
Where do you store your deployed software?
Regards,
Rajesh Kumar

Great article topic! It’s important to clarify that continuous integration (CI) is a broader software engineering practice that involves automating the build, compile, test, and merge process so developers integrate code changes frequently into a shared repository, with each commit triggering an automated build and test cycle to catch issues early. Continuous integration goes beyond just continuous compilation — compilation is only one step in CI’s workflow, which also includes running unit tests, static analysis, and other validations to keep the codebase stable and deployment‑ready. Modern CI/CD pipelines help teams detect integration conflicts sooner, reduce regressions, and accelerate delivery cycles by catching issues as close to commit time as possible — something compilation alone doesn’t guarantee.
